Dance Shows, Workshops and Open Rehearsals

Dates for dance: shows, work-in-progress showings, open rehearsals, intensives and technique workshops. Companies and independent choreographers post their own, which means small things appear here that never reach a listings magazine. Runs are short, so the date is the point.

Each listing has what decides whether you go: date and time, venue and address, whether it is free, and a description written by whoever is presenting. Where tickets exist, the link goes out to the organiser's own page, because Spanish Artists has nothing to do with the door. Images and video from earlier editions often sit in the same listing.

Anyone can read the calendar without an account. Signing in adds one useful thing: follow an event and it stays with you, and follow the company so their next date arrives in a feed that runs in date order, with no ranking applied. Sharing a listing works either way.

Dance is advertised badly and late. A programme is confirmed weeks before opening, the run is three or four nights, and the audience is found by word of mouth. Open rehearsals and studio showings are worse, announced days ahead to whoever is looking. That is the gap this calendar covers, along with workshops taught by choreographers between projects.
