The work runs from tightly observed figuration to painting with no subject at all. Some paint alla prima in a single wet session, some build glazes over weeks and photograph the canvas at each stage. Portrait painters usually work from sittings and reference photographs together. Muralists work standing on scaffolding or a lift, at a scale a studio cannot hold.

A profile reads whole without an account, contact tab included, and each painter leaves there the route they want an approach to come by. What follows is between two people: the size that fits the wall, whether it is canvas or the wall itself, how long a layer needs before the next one goes on. Publishing a portfolio of your own costs nothing.

A painting photographs badly at thumbnail size, so the portfolios that work hardest carry detail crops: the edge of an impasto ridge, a passage of glaze, the weave of the linen. Painters often post studies and abandoned versions alongside the finished canvas, and some add video of the surface under raking light, because a flat scan flattens exactly what you are looking for.
