Josep Maria Ribelles is a Barcelona-based harpist, composer, and studio musician whose work bridges traditional Celtic music, Mediterranean folk traditions, and contemporary composition. A graduate of the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu, he is widely recognised as one of Spain's leading specialists in the Celtic harp and Catalan neo-Gothic harp.
Throughout his career, Ribelles has collaborated with acclaimed artists and ensembles across the folk and world music scenes, including Kepa Junkera, Carlos Beceiro, L'Ham de Foc, and Nebeda. His performances have taken him to festivals throughout Europe, where he is celebrated for combining historical traditions with a deeply personal and contemporary musical voice.
In addition to his live performances, he has composed and recorded music for film soundtracks, contributed to numerous studio productions, and released several acclaimed solo albums, including Enllà, #3, Ondines Ballen, and more recently Tàlveg. His music moves effortlessly between acoustic and electric textures, creating atmospheric soundscapes inspired by centuries of musical heritage while remaining unmistakably modern.
